Music at the Maritime

May 21, 2018 by Karen Devine Leave a Comment

The Irish Maritime Festival will, once again, host two magical nights of music with the return of The Stowaway Sessions!

The Stowaway Sessions are an amazing way to see live music, and are sure to be unlike anything you’ve seen before.  Taking place on the stunning Earl of Pembroke Tall Ship, moored in Drogheda Port, you’ll see incredible live acts in an intimate and atmospheric setting right on the banks of the Boyne.

This year’s Session plays host to fast-rising folk duo, The Lost Brothers, headlining on Friday 15th June, following their recent sold-out tour and new album.  The wonderful singer-songwriter Eve Belle will support The Lost Brothers, so book your tickets early for this fantastic night.

The incomparable Declan O’Rourke takes over the sails on Saturday 16th June with his all-star band, including Mike McGoldrick and Floriane Blanke, performing “Chronicles of the Great Irish Famine”.  This is set to be a hauntingly atmospheric night, definitely one to mark in your calendar. Bluegrass powerhouse Pilgrim St will perform as special guests.

The Stowaway Sessions are produced by the Droichead Arts Centre and curated by SJ McArdle and Adrian Taffe.

Tickets on sale now from www.Droichead.ie for €23 (which includes two drink tokens). Places are limited to 85 people per night, so book early to avoid any disappointment. This is certainly an experience any music-lover won’t want to miss.

And if you’re at the Irish Maritime Festival during the day time on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th June, stop by the Ballast Quay Stage. There you’ll hear some brilliant emerging singer/songwriters and performing live. Hosted by Gerry Hodgers of The Purple Sessions, The Ballast Quay Stage is a great place to spot Ireland’s new talent. Visit www.maritimefestival.ie now for the full Music at the Maritime schedule.

WhiteLight Consulting are proud to be the PR and Marketing Partner for Louth County Council and Drogheda Port Company and we look forward to welcoming you all to the Irish Maritime Festival next month!
