This week, WhiteLight Consulting were delighted to work with the team at Dundalk Institute of Technology on a media training programme.
We had the great pleasure of working with lecturers from across the various disciplines in the college. We taught them the fundamentals of how to manage their media appearances: how to prepare, body language and communications skills, how to explain your subject area, how to manage difficult questions or interviewers and much more.
The full HD TV studio on campus at the Carroll’s Building was a real joy to work in and we made equally good use of the broadcast studio. There is nothing to take the edge of nerves about media appearances like getting experience in the real environment.
It was a learning experience for us too as we heard about the specialist subjects of the various lecturers. We were enthralled by the topic of social policy as explained by David Getty. Lorraine Dunne and Brianain Erraught explained the lives of Tourism, Hospitality and Event management students in DkIT and talked about the TRIC Conference that Lorraine is addressing next week. And finally, you could have heard a pin drop as Conor Brady explained the exploration going on at the historic mound of Millmount in Drogheda. Each of these professionals had a story to tell and each, in their own right, captured the audience.
We all have a story in us. Find the story in you and tell it to the world … you’d be amazed who’s interested in your story!
